Kilburn is a village with a strong sense of community, a proud history, and a bright future. Our Parish Council plays a vital role in shaping that future — from improving local spaces to representing residents’ voices — and we’re excited to announce that we currently have vacancies for new Parish Councillors.
If you care about Kilburn and want to make a real difference, this could be the perfect opportunity.
🌟 Why Join the Parish Council?
Being a Parish Councillor isn’t about politics — it’s about people. It’s about listening, helping, and working together to make Kilburn the best it can be.
Here’s what you can expect:
Make a positive impact on local services, facilities, and community projects
Represent the views of residents and help shape decisions that affect everyday life
Support improvements to parks, footpaths, events, and village amenities
Work with friendly, committed volunteers who care deeply about Kilburn
Develop new skills, from project planning to community engagement
You don’t need any special qualifications — just enthusiasm, a willingness to get involved, and a desire to support your community.
🏡 Who Can Apply?
You’re eligible to become a Parish Councillor if you:
Are aged 18 or over
Live in Kilburn or within three miles of the parish boundary
Are registered to vote in the parish
Are passionate about contributing to village life
Whether you’re newly settled in the village or have lived here all your life, your perspective is valuable.
🤝 What Does the Role Involve?
Parish Councillors typically:
Attend monthly council meetings
Help review local issues and community concerns
Support projects such as village maintenance, events, and planning feedback
Work collaboratively to make decisions that benefit the parish
The time commitment is modest, but the impact is meaningful.
📩 Interested? We’d Love to Hear From You
If you’re curious, have questions, or would like to apply, please get in touch with the Parish Clerk (Clerk@KilburnParishCouncil.gov.uk). We’re happy to talk through what the role involves and how you can get started.
Kilburn thrives when its residents get involved. If you’ve ever thought, “Someone should do something about that…” — maybe that someone could be you.

I work at a senior care facility. The large print word search has been a hit — big fonts, high contrast, residents can actually read the letters.
